Pastor's Column

Springs Renewing Energy

Feeling tired? While coffee and tea sellers say business is soaring, lifestyle researchers say people are not getting enough sleep. It's odd that in spite of more and more gadgets to save us time, we feel like we never have enough time and energy.

Metaphysically there are lots of ways to recharge, but NOW is the time of Spring! This is the season of Nature's greatest lesson of renewal and rejuvenation- the biggest, visible lesson available! We see everywhere threes getting new green leaves and flowers blossoming with new flowers. It is as though all of Nature is launching forward with one magnificent, celebration of life! It's as though it is singing, "Divine Energy is unlimited, unstoppable, and glorious to behold". AND, we are a physical and mental extension of that same LIFE energy! We can all tune in to our Spiritual Guides and Angelic Teachers. Many learn this here at SCOL in various classes and development circles; and everyone can discover how their energy of love and support can be actualized. Their care can be felt in easy to find parking spaces, but also the warm glow of hope that softly comes over the heart. You might experience a feeling of optimism that might seem illogical to man's logic, but makes perfect sense to the divine logic of God.

Following the heart's optimism is restorative and life giving! It allows us to experience relief from fear, anxiety, bad moods, and feelings of doom. Negative indicators no longer entertain us; instead our heart is naturally drawn to the emotions and ideas of Spirit.

When you feel tired for any reason, try this simple recipe from White Eagle, channeled through the Mediumship of Grace Cooke, When you go to sleep at night let your last though be of praise and thankfulness to God. Think of crossing the river to the world of light. Let the divine will within be your director both in sleep and waking.*

May you experience renewal each day.-- Rev. Drew (*Golden Harvest, White Eagle, p. 54)

SCOL Welcomes Rev. Richard Schoeller

Come join us for three dynamic events in April 2014 with Medium Richard Schoeller! Our good friend Richard will be visiting the SCOL from April 20th-25th. Richard will be service the church at both services on Sunday, April 20, 2014.

"Aspects of Mediumship", Davis Hall, Tuesday, April 22, 7:30pm-10pm, fee is $30
People who are learning about their mediumistic ability want to understand the process of communication, both for themselves and from the spiritual realm. Richard will work with the students to help them gain a better understanding of their clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience through theory and exercises. This workshop will be interactive and each participant is encouraged to have a basic understanding of mediumship.

"Fine Tuning Your Mediumship", Davis Hall, Thursday, April 24, 7:30pm-10pm, fee is $30
In mediumship, if we are not providing evidence about the spirit communicating, then how can we be proving the continuity of life? In this workshop Richard will work with the group in helping them to become clearer about the person who is workign with them from the Spirit side of life.

"An Evening of Spirit Communication", Sanctuary, Friday, April 25, 7:30pm-9pm, fee is $10-20
Richard will bring evidential and meaningful messages from spirit loved ones to those in attendance. He will try to reach as many people as possible but there is no guarantee that everyone will get a message. One thing is for sure, you will have an opportunity to witness one of the beset mental Mediums in the country and have a great time in the process.

Considering a Membership at SCOL?

Our spiritual family is a joy for many! Often folks ask about how to become members, so we'd like to explain how simple it is in 5 easy steps:

1. First, we offer the free Basic Concepts Class at least twice per year, comprised of two or three condensed classes on our beliefs and history, usually taught by our Senior Pastor Rev. Drew Vogt. Attendance at these is required for SCOL membership and allows us a chance to get to know each other.

2. Upon completion of the Basic Concepts Class, ask a SCOL member to be your Sponsor.

3. Fill out a blue SCOL Petition for Membership card, and a letter or short explanation about your reason for joining. These cards are usually available in the lobby or office.

4. Submit this to us via the offering plate, church office, or to one of our staff members for Board Approval at our monthly meeting.

5. Upon approval, we will contact you to set a date for you New Members Ceremony. This is comprised of a short candle lighting ceremony which is usually a part of one of the Sunday services.

Lastly, in accordance with the Bylaws to be  a voting member, you must be a member for 6 months and attend at least two services per month. If you have any questions regarding membership, please contact Rev. Drew or any of our Board of Directors. We look forward to welcoming you!

Healing Team

These past few months have just flown bu with so many interesting visitors and workshops. In my counseling here at SCOL, I'm never ceased to be amazed at the power of the subconscious mind combined with Spiritual Healing. So with spring here, I am offering a "Spring Cleaning" session with just a small group of people. We will sort out the cobwebs, and with Spiritual intent, point our minds in the direction of health, happiness and a breath of fresh air for a successful year. If you are interested, please give me a call at 941-822-0255.

Blessings, Rev. Lisa Johnson
